Which travel eSIMs work in Kosovo? 17 brands checked

Several of the best-known eSIM brands don't sell data for Kosovo, or list it as unavailable. We checked 17 brands' own pages on 27 October 2026: who covers Kosovo, and on which network.

Kosovo is not in the EU, and it is not in every "Europe" or "Balkans" eSIM either. Several of the best-known brands don't sell data for Kosovo at all, or show a Kosovo page that says the plan is unavailable. If you only find out at the border, the fix is usually roaming on your home plan, at your home carrier's Kosovo price.

So we checked. On 27 October 2026 we opened the Kosovo page of 17 travel eSIM brands, plus our own, and wrote down what each one actually sells there.

The short answer

  • Sell a Kosovo plan: onesim (a Kosovo plan, and a Balkans plan that includes Kosovo), Airalo, Saily, Nomad, Ubigi, aloSIM (up to 5 GB), GigSky, Airhub, and the Kosovo-based Horizon, VIA, Kudo and 99esim. Maya Mobile covers Kosovo only through its global unlimited plan.
  • List Kosovo but don't sell it: Holafly and Yesim. Both show a Kosovo page; Holafly's says the plan is currently unavailable, Yesim's says it "will be back soon".
  • Don't list Kosovo at all: Breeze, Jetpac and Truely.

Kosovo coverage compared, as each brand's own page showed it to a visitor in Kosovo.

One thing the table doesn't show is the regional plans that leave Kosovo out. Nomad's Balkans, Europe and global plans, Airalo's Eurolink, Holafly's Balkans plan, Yesim's Balkans plan and the Balkans plans of 99esim and Horizon all skip it, and Kudo's Europe plan doesn't work inside Kosovo. onesim's and Saily's Balkans plans do include it.

Check the country list, not the plan's name

A plan called "Balkans" or "Europe" tells you nothing about Kosovo. Before you buy, open the plan's country list and look for Kosovo by name. If a page shows Kosovo but nothing to buy, or a note that it is unavailable, it won't work there.

The networks

Kosovo's two main networks are Vala and IPKO; mts also operates, mostly in the north. Where a brand names the network its Kosovo plan uses, it is Vala or IPKO, and none of the 17 named mts. If you are driving through Serbia or North Macedonia to get there, a regional plan that names those countries saves a second eSIM at the border.

Where onesim fits

We sell a Kosovo plan on Vala, and a Balkans plan that covers Kosovo and ten more countries in the region, so a road trip home needs one eSIM for every border. You install it once and add a package from the app on the next trip. And the roaming index shows what your home carrier would charge for the same week.

How we checked

We opened each brand's own Kosovo page, and its country lists and help pages where the Kosovo page didn't say enough, on 27 October 2026 from a connection in Kosovo. We didn't buy the plans, so we haven't tested speeds. Coverage changes: check the brand's own country list before you buy, and tell us at support if something here has changed.
