Good to know

What's included, when it starts, and how to get connected.

Included countries
The Türkiye plan covers Türkiye only.
Local networks
In Türkiye your eSIM connects to Türk Telekom — 4G/5G where the network offers it.
When validity starts
Your package starts when your phone first connects to a network at the destination — not when you install it. Crossing a border does not restart it.
Installation and activation
Install the eSIM while you still have internet — at home or on Wi-Fi. Installation does not start validity. If you already have a onesim eSIM installed, a new package is added to it — no second installation. Setup guide
Calls and texts
onesim is data-only. Calls and messages work over data in apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime; your usual SIM keeps your number.
Support and refunds
Message the onesim support team from the app or the website. If a package cannot be installed or used, the refund policy explains what applies. Refund policy
Travel notes

A few things worth knowing before you go.

Istanbul · transport

Get an Istanbulkart before your first tram ride.

Istanbul's trams, metro, buses and ferries all run on the Istanbulkart. Buy one from the yellow machines at the airport metro or any major station, load it with cash or card, and tap on each ride. One card can be used for more than one person by tapping again. Single-ride tickets exist but cost more per trip.

Money

Cards are everywhere; carry some lira anyway.

Contactless cards work in most shops, restaurants and taxis in cities. Small bakeries, bazaar stalls and dolmuş minibuses often want cash. ATMs are common; your bank may charge a foreign withdrawal fee.

Sights · Istanbul

Check mosque prayer times before you plan your morning.

The Blue Mosque and other working mosques close to visitors during prayer times and for longer at Friday midday prayers. Hagia Sophia has a separate visitor entrance and ticket for tourists; check current arrangements before you go.

Staying connected

Your onesim plan is not a Turkish SIM — and that is the point.

Türkiye asks visitors to register phones that use a Turkish SIM for a long stay. onesim connects through Turkish partner networks as a roaming eSIM, so for a normal trip there is nothing to register. If you are staying for months, check the current rules on device registration.

On arrival

From the gate to the Bosphorus.

Istanbul Airport sits well outside the city. The M11 metro runs to Gayrettepe and Kağıthane, where you change for the rest of the network; Havaist buses go to Taksim and Sultanahmet. Sabiha Gökçen on the Asian side has its own M4 metro link.

Turn on the onesim line for mobile data before you leave the terminal: maps, ride-hailing and the Istanbulkart app all work from the first minute.

Answers about data, coverage and setup for Türkiye.

Coverage follows the local networks wherever they reach — cities, transport corridors and most rural areas. Remote mountain and island areas can have weaker signal on any carrier.
