Good to know

What's included, when it starts, and how to get connected.

Included countries
The Thailand plan covers Thailand only.
Local networks
In Thailand your eSIM connects to AIS — 4G/5G where the network offers it.
When validity starts
Your package starts when your phone first connects to a network at the destination — not when you install it. Crossing a border does not restart it.
Installation and activation
Install the eSIM while you still have internet — at home or on Wi-Fi. Installation does not start validity. If you already have a onesim eSIM installed, a new package is added to it — no second installation. Setup guide
Calls and texts
onesim is data-only. Calls and messages work over data in apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime; your usual SIM keeps your number.
Support and refunds
Message the onesim support team from the app or the website. If a package cannot be installed or used, the refund policy explains what applies. Refund policy
Arrival guide

Your first hour in Thailand.

One form to file before you fly, one train to find on arrival, and one rule about taxis. The rest of the trip is easy.

    File the arrival card, free

Every foreign national entering Thailand must submit a Thailand Digital Arrival Card. It is free, it replaced the old paper form in May 2025, and you file it online in the three days before you arrive. Use the official government site; the agencies charging €20–40 to fill it in for you are not required.

  2. 2

    Install before you fly

Install the onesim eSIM at home over Wi-Fi and leave the line switched off. The package starts the first time it connects to a network in Thailand, so there is no cost to having it ready early.

  3. 3

    Immigration

Have the QR code from your arrival card ready, along with the address of your first night. Queues at Suvarnabhumi run 20 to 60 minutes depending on the bank of arrivals.

  4. 4

    Into the city

At Suvarnabhumi the Airport Rail Link runs from the basement to Phaya Thai for 15–45 baht and meets the BTS Skytrain; in Bangkok traffic it is often twice as fast as a taxi. At Don Mueang the SRT Red Line runs to Bang Sue for the MRT. For taxis, use the public queue and insist on the meter.

When to come

November to February is the season, and it books out.

Cool and dry in the north and on both coasts. March to May is genuinely extreme heat. The rainy season, roughly June to October, means an hour of heavy rain most afternoons rather than washed-out days — and much lower prices.

Money

Cards in the cities, cash for everything good.

Street food, markets and small guesthouses are cash. ATMs charge a fixed foreign-card fee of around 220 baht a withdrawal, so take out more, less often. The 300-baht tourist fee that has been announced repeatedly is still not being collected.

Temples

The dress code is enforced at the gate.

Shoulders and knees covered for everyone, shoes off inside, and no photographs of yourself with your back to a Buddha image. Anyone outside a major temple telling you it is closed today and offering an alternative is running a scam.

Coverage

Excellent in cities, good on the islands.

Bangkok, Chiang Mai and the main tourist islands are well covered. The gaps are in the national parks, on the smaller islands and on the boat between them — download the map before the ferry, not after.

Coverage follows the local networks wherever they reach — cities, transport corridors and most rural areas. Remote mountain and island areas can have weaker signal on any carrier.
