Two things to check before you buy.
They’re separate. A supported model can still be locked, and an unlocked phone can still lack eSIM.
Your phone supports eSIM.
Support depends on the exact model and, for some brands, the regional version — the same iPhone sold in mainland China has no eSIM. Use the checker above with your model number, not just the name — or dial *#06# and look for an EID.
Your phone can use another carrier.
Phones bought on a contract are often locked to that carrier and will refuse another provider’s eSIM. Your carrier can confirm and unlock it, usually once the contract terms are met. We can’t see this from the website — only your carrier or your phone’s settings can tell you.

Some manufacturers ship the same model with different hardware by market. iPhones sold in mainland China have two physical SIM slots and no eSIM; some Samsung and OnePlus regional variants also omit it. The model number identifies which version you have.
It’s in your phone’s settings under About. On iPhone it’s a code starting with “A”; on Samsung it starts with “SM-”; on Pixel it’s a five-character code. Step-by-step guide
We only list models we’ve verified against manufacturer documentation, so an unlisted phone isn’t necessarily incompatible. Dial *#06# — if the screen shows an EID, the phone has eSIM hardware. Then send us the model name and number and we’ll confirm.
Dialling *#06# in the phone app shows your phone’s identifiers. An EID is the 32-digit ID of the built-in eSIM chip — if it’s listed, the hardware is there. It doesn’t tell you whether the phone is carrier-locked, and you never need to share it with us for a model check.
A locked phone only accepts SIMs and eSIMs from the carrier that sold it. Unlocked phones accept any provider. Carriers unlock phones on request once contract conditions are met — we can’t do it for you or detect it from the website. How to check
Yes. onesim is data-only and sits alongside your existing SIM. Keep your usual line for calls and messages and set onesim as the mobile-data line when you arrive. Connecting when you arrive
