Where it works

2 countries on one package. A few of them:

USACanada
Included countries
One data allowance for the whole package — use it in any mix of the 2 included countries. It is not per country.
When validity starts
Your package starts when your phone first connects to a network at the destination — not when you install it. Crossing a border does not restart it.
Entering another included country
Your phone picks up a partner network in the new country automatically — keep data roaming on for the onesim line. No settings to change and nothing to reinstall.
Outside the covered countries
The package does not connect. Your phone falls back to Wi-Fi or your home SIM if you allow it — check the list before you go, and look at another onesim package for uncovered stops.
Calls and texts
onesim is data-only. Calls and messages work over data in apps like WhatsApp or FaceTime; your usual SIM keeps your number.
Support and refunds
Message the onesim support team from the app or the website. If a package cannot be installed or used, the refund policy explains what applies. Refund policy
Travel notes

The carrier day pass is the thing to avoid.

American and European carriers sell international roaming at roughly $5 to $12 a day per line, charged the moment any data crosses the network — including at six in the morning while you are asleep. A two-week trip on a day pass costs more than most travel packages for the same period, which is the whole reason this page exists.

National parks

Non-residents pay differently since January 2026.

The America the Beautiful annual pass is $80 for US residents and $250 for everyone else, and non-residents without one pay $100 per person on top of the entrance fee at eleven of the busiest parks. If your trip takes in two or more of them, the pass is the cheaper answer.

Money

The price on the label is not the price you pay.

Sales tax is added at the register and varies by state and city. Tipping is 18–20% in a sit-down restaurant, a dollar or two a drink at a bar, and 15–20% in a taxi. Budget roughly a third on top of the menu price.

Two-factor codes

A travel eSIM gives you data, not an American number.

That covers maps, rideshares, waitlists and everything else a visitor needs. What it will not do is receive a US text message, so keep your own line in the phone and reachable, and move what you can to an authenticator app before you fly.

Coverage

Comprehensive in the cities, genuinely absent in the parks.

Urban and interstate coverage is excellent across the country, and the partner networks reach everywhere a visitor is likely to drive. What is empty is exactly what people come for: the canyon country of southern Utah, most of Yellowstone, Big Bend, the Sierra passes and long stretches of desert highway.

That is true on every network, American or otherwise. Download the route before you leave the last city, screenshot your reservations, and treat a day in a national park as offline by default.

Answers for trips across more than one country.

Open “See covered countries” and search each stop. The list is the authoritative source: if a country is on it, this package works there; if it is not, we point you to another onesim package if one covers it.
